Schmitt transitioned to an innovation plan in 2016 as a Turnaround School. The Innovation Plan provides autonomy to support targeted training and resources to best support students. It affords alternative budgeting that increases the support staff we are able to offer, such as mental health, para support and additional Essentials. Schmitt’s Innovation Plan also strategically adds additional non-student contact days that support adult development, data analysis and plan time. The resources and targeted training help to improve student achievement.
